Later, the AFC will divide the 16 participating teams into four pots, each of which contains four teams. As a result, pot 1 is occupied by the host China, defending champion Uzbekistan, runner-up Iraq and between South Korea/Japan.
South Korea and Japan both lost in the semifinals of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup via penalties, so it is not yet known for sure who will occupy pot 1. Moving on to pot 2, there is one of South Korea/Japan, Australia, Iran and Jordan.
What about the Indonesian U-20 National Team? The success of finishing in ninth place in the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup has placed Indra Sjafri's squad in pot 3. The Garuda Nusantara squad is in pot 3 with Saudi Arabia, Syria and Kyrgyzstan.
